Carolina Wrestling Adds Two More for 2003-04 Season

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - University of North Carolina wrestling head coach C.D. Mock rounded out his first-ever recruiting class with junior college transfer Ashtson Buswell and Winston-Salem's Ryan Hart, he announced Monday. In addition to this pair, Mock already inked seven recruits to give the 2003-04 Tar Heels nine newcomers.

A native of Pleasant View, Utah, Buswell transfers to Carolina from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. The junior college national champion at 157 pounds, Buswell will have three years of eligibility remaining. A graduate of Weber High School, he was a two-time high school state champion. Buswell was also the student body president of his high school and posted a 3.979 grade point average. He is expected to wrestle for the Tar Heels at 165 pounds.

Hart, who is a recent graduate of R.J. Reynolds High School, was the 2003 North Carolina state champion at 112 pounds. He is slated to wrestle at 125 pounds for Carolina.

Buswell and Hart join Nick Coleman (Hershey, Pa.), Ben Connell (Lugoff, S.C.), Drew Forshey (Hickory, N.C.), Jared Hogan (Belmont, N.C.), Steve Spicuzza (Clearwater, Fla.), Matt Starkey (Charlotte, N.C.) and Eric Zakrzewski (Reston, Va.) as Mock's first recruiting class as head coach of the Tar Heels.
