GREENSBORO, N.C. - North Carolina junior Mike Booth was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Wrestler of the Week after posting a 4-1 record and finishing as the runner-up at 141 pounds at Saturday's Rubbermaid Open at Carmichael Auditorium.

The Marlton, N.J., native won his first three matches by fall, downing Donnie Ooeten of Virginia Tech (0:29) in the opening match, then Nike Miles of Cumberland College (2:56) and Kevin Artis of UNC-Greensboro (0:56) to move into the semifinal round.

In the semis, Booth captured a 4-0 decision over Campbell's Adam Bricker. In the championship match, he was defeated by the 14th-ranked Andy Simmons of Michigan State (4-0) to earn second place honors at the tournament. For the season, Booth runs his record to 4-3 overall.

Booth and the Tar Heels will next travel to Newark, Del., for the Beast of the East on Friday, December 19.
