J.T.'s Journal: Nov. 8, 2002
Nov. 10, 2002
Throughout the 2002-03 season, senior forward Jennifer Thomas will provide TarHeelBlue.com readers with an inside look at the Carolina women's basketball program. This installment is her second of the season. There's LOVE in the air!!!! Hello Tar Heel fans. This week I would like to start my journal entry off by congratulating Chrystal and Jonas. Earlier this week Jonas Seawright, a member of the football team, proposed to Chrystal Baptist after practice. It was so sweet!!!! Well, besides the big engagement, we've been pretty busy this week. We played the Premier Players on Sunday and came out with an impressive win. Then on Wednesday we played Athletes in Action (AIA). Our performance this game was not so good. We missed a lot of easy shots and had numerous turnovers. However, there were spurts when we looked pretty good, both offensively and defensively. My overview of the game was that we underestimated AIA and did not play to our potential. So, due to the fact that we didn't perform to our high standards, Coach Hatchell and the staff decided not to give us Thursday off which, in my opinion, was totally understandable. Thursday, I was really, really, really tired. My schedule was completely jammed. I had weights at 8 a.m., class from 11 until 3:15 p.m., an interview (which I must say went quite well) and then practice from 4:30 until whenever the coaches felt we'd gone long enough. (JUST kidding! I think we finished up at 7:15.) So, as you can see, there was no time for J.T. to get that ever-so-important nap. On a good note, practice wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. I thought we'd run all practice or something but instead of punishing us for our poor performance, the coaches helped us and showed us how to correct what we did wrong. However, I might want to knock on wood because we still have practice today!!! Hahahahaha... Well, it's time to wrap this up. I have to SCRHCCCH (means "hurry" in the English language) to the training room so I can get all of my aches and pains out before we start!! Peace, Jennifer #10
