Nov. 8, 2007

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - A pair of Carolina volleyball players were recently named to the Academic All-District team for not only their contributions on the floor but also in the classroom. Stephanie Jansma and Lauren Prussing were each named to the District III Third Team and were two of 10 Atlantic Coast Conference players to be placed on one of the three six player teams.

Jansma, a Lancaster, N.Y. native, leads the Tar Heels in assists with 1,107 on the year from her setter position averaging 11.41 per game. Jansma's assist total marks the second consecutive season that she has eclipsed the 1,000-assist mark and now has 2,843 for her three-year career.

Prussing, a Highlands Ranch, Colo. native, leads a balanced Tar Heel attack with 247 kills on the year an average of 2.98 per game. Prussing is on pace to break her career high in kills of 262 that she tallied as a freshman.
