Carolina Volleyball Earns NCAA Public Recognition Award

The North Carolina volleyball team recently received a Public Recognition Award from the NCAA for its Academic Progress Rate. The Tar Heels posted an academic progress rate in the upper 10 percent of Division I playing volleyball schools to garner the award.

Three Tar Heels were named to the All-ACC Academic team for their performance not only on the floor but in the classroom in 2006. The Carolina trio was Megan Owens, Stephanie Jansma and Lauren Prussing.

The other Tar Heel teams recognized for their Academic Progress Rate are baseball, men's basketball, women's basketball, women's golf, men's and women's fencing.
